Post-Conviction (PCSOT) Exams

We know this may not be your choice
Many people we see are taking a polygraph because it's part of their supervision or treatment. That's okay. Our job is to run a fair, professional exam and treat you with respect from start to finish.
Before the test begins, the examiner will explain how it works and go over every question with you.
You'll never be asked a test question you haven't already reviewed.
Types of PCSOT exams
Maintenance / monitoring (regular check-in)
Looks at whether you've followed the rules of your supervision and treatment since your last exam. These are often repeated on a schedule, such as every 6 months or once a year. We keep track of your schedule and remind you when your next exam is coming up.
Sexual history
Reviews the sexual history disclosure you complete as part of treatment.
Specific issue
Focuses on one particular concern or incident raised by your officer or treatment provider.
Who gets the results
Your written report goes to your supervising officer and your treatment provider within 3–5 business days.
Before your exam
- What to bring: Nothing is required. If you have a photo ID, please bring it.
- Eating, sleep, and medication: Keep your routine normal. Get a normal night's sleep, eat as you usually would, and take any prescribed medication as directed. Don't use alcohol or non-prescribed drugs before your exam.
- How long it takes: Plan for 1½ to 3 hours, including a thorough pre-test interview. Please don't schedule anything tight afterward.
